Javea has many restaurants that offer visitors the chance to sample the culinary delights of the area, as well as the normal international cuisine. One of the most popular areas to eat is along Arenal Beach where many of the local restaurants and bars can be found. These places typically offer a beautiful view of the Mediterranean with Ibiza easily seen on a clear day. The port of Javea is also a popular place, with many open terraced restaurants and bars serving traditional fare. The views of the bay are also astounding.

Javea has a rich tradition of tapas, with small dishes being served giving visitors the chance to sample several of the traditional meals in one sitting. Being a coastal town, seafood and fish are popular in Javea and are cooked in served in many different ways. Garlic and  olive oil prevail in many of the recipes, giving the dishes a distinct and unmistakeable Mediterranean taste.

Rice is a main ingredient in many of the Javean dishes, served as main meals in the traditional paella or as an accompaniment. Arròs a la Marinara is a classic rice dish served with several different types of seafood and translates to fishermen’s rice.

Desserts in Javea are often fresh fruit, such as oranges, apples, melon, pears, pomegranate and figs. Pastries and cakes are also popular in many of the restaurants.
