The Montgo Natural Park is a limestone mass that climbs above the two towns of Javea and Denia in the Alicante province of Spain. It was declared as a natural park in 1987 due to its varying abundance of flora and fauna. The Montgo Mountain rises up 753 metres and lies parallel to the coastline. It extends from a large plain lying between the two towns known as 'Les Planes' which slopes down towards the Sant Antoni Cape. The park encompasses an area of 2,150 hectares
The natural park is covered with different kinds of flora, with almost 600 different species present. Several hiking and walking routes and trails are found throughout the park. Visitors can hike through stony terrain, pine forests, and Mediterranean scrub on their way up to the Montgo summit. The summit offers panoramic views of the surroundings, and on clear days it is possible to see all the way to Ibiza.  The park is abound with all kinds of life, and is well known for its marine bird species. The yellow footed gull and the Audouin’s Gull are frequently seen in the area. Visitors can also see dormouse, rabbits, weasels and foxes in the area, frequently hiding amongst the areas of red lavender. The Montgo Natural Park is a haven for flora and fauna, and is open to visitors throughout the year. It is a protected area, so guests are advised to respect the surrounding nature and animals.
